The Canadian Forces mod has an October release and if you haven't had a chance to read it here it is...and head down there and signup if you can help! A lot has been happening with the Conflict Canada Mod since the last media release. My name is Floppy, I'm the new Media Relations Representative for the mod. The mod itself has undergone a fundamental change. Shifting from a "far-out" concept, to a current/future possibilities deployment concept. It is now based around Canadian and USMC deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan, with other areas under discussion. We feel this is a more appropriate direction for the mod as we are trying to make it more realistic for gameplay as well. We have set up a new forum site that is more user friendly than the old forums. It asks a lot less personal info to join up. You may not have heard of it and hopefully they get a release out but now Conflict Canada has had its leadership change. Didn't know there was a Canadian mod? Here's their 'what we're about' - The year is 2008, the world's foremost military powers have just signed an international agreement to disarm and be rid all military installations by the year 2010. Many people rejoice as the end of all wars is in sight and news of resolving conflicts in the Middle East arrives in the western world. All seems well until January of 2009, when all hell broke loose. Insurgents, now united under one flag have banded together in an effort to continue world conflicts and the massive spread of their ideologies. NATO has opted not to mount any counter attack on the Middle Eastern extremists thus adhering to the treaty the world held so dear. By the summer of 2009 the worlds super powers have made independent decisions as to if they would like to continue their actions in disarming or continue to leave these installations intact and as a precaution. These precautionary armies have managed to stave off attacks coming from the Insurgents in Western Europe and North and South America as well as Australia and surrounding area. China and Russia had decided to completely disarm in hopes that current wars would not spread to their regions. This proved to be a fatal mistake as Insurgent armies effortlessly overtook these countries as well as their stockpiles of weapons ammunition and have even captures what remain vehicles they had. Allied Intent is our next mod that we are watching.... here's the lowdown...Allied Intent seeks to enhance the BF2 experience in every way, by adding new content and features, making changes to gameplay, and involving the community in the mod's development. Allied Intent supports players of all ages, backgrounds, and gaming preferences. Allied Intent is for the BF2 player who likes single player and multiplayer matches. And Allied Intent actively engages the community in contributing content to be officially sanctioned in the mod releases. One of the mods we're going to watch at our site ... one that is worth watching is the Point of Existence mod. Here's a little excerpt - After a long, bloody war in the Sudan, the governments of the United States and Russia struck an uneasy cease-fire over the fate of Africa and its burgeoning industry. This peace would be short lived, for to the north a new conflict was brewing. Ukraine, a former satellite state of the Soviet Union, sought to gain back the power from which it once reveled in. As the snow fell in a heavy midwinter storm, Ukrainian troops moved towards the border of Belarus. Without warning, Ukrainian troops attacked with a speed and effectiveness not seen since the blitzkrieg of WWII. With their aggressive tactics, the Ukrainian army reached the capital of Belarus in a matter of weeks. The lightly armed and ill-prepared Belarusian army could do little to stop this onslaught of men and metal. Check out POE in our new 'Mods to Watch' Link Column ( MTW ).

1. Wallpapers- yes they will be released - currently have one completed and two others 50% done. 2. Previously mentioned radio station - currently down, looking for a permanent home as the Pentium III is probably on it's last legs....or transistor's  -  you get what I mean. It may still pop up now and again as I have a FM transmitter and need something to listen to in the backyard. 3. Still playing BF2 but not as much as in winter... not surprised. Stats are updated even if this space is not. 4. The F1 season is a dandy one....c'mon give JV a ride for next year!

The wallpaper has been submitted to EA for the contest and because of the rules it will *not* be released at this website or any other. However - there are two other wallpapers that have been made previously that will be released soon....they are not like the finished product that was submitted for the contest.

I was going to release the wallpaper here but now I've decided to first enter the contest by EA... then releasing it after the contest is over and the five winners have been determined. Never hurts to try!

As always when we move the headlines from...well the headlines they are all placed under the Archives link top left. You'll find they go back right to the beginning of our site so it carries all the items you might have seen earlier but cannot find now. Take a look if you wish...

I still hope to release the movie someday....but probably not anytime soon. Other projects have come along including!!!!....our own sponsored internet radio station!!! You heard that right and it's been running for about 2 months. The stickler is of course the bandwidth going up being on a DSL connection and all so the maximum number of connections is 5 and even that maybe a stretch. What's on it? Currently only music and there is some thoughts of having interviews playing on certain days ( re:BF2 ) but that has been only that... thoughts. We'll see what the future holds. You can find it at wlvradio.sytes.net - you need Winamp to listen and as far as outages go.... when there's BF2 to play there's no radio. There are always more songs being added but it will maintain it's unique content throughout. Hope you enjoy.
