Finally after what seems to be a
year...ok so it was. I've got a new system....my web update system is now up
and running and hey I've been playing an old one....and now ranked to First
Sergeant. Oh well...worth it to me. BF3 is actually out ... cool. I've
updated my stats which you can find in the stats section and by selecting my
banner....
And if you like you can play

To mention that I was
surprised that BF2 was going to freeplay on the web would have been a
bit of an understatement. There's no doubt we're in a time when the day's of
installing huge games locally may be near an end. Never mind the free play
model being a surprise ( obviously it's working ) but now they are going to
tie in BF3 with the Free play....I just have to wonder how many of the
original BF1942 group are still playing...can't say EA doesn't think outside
the box. Updated
some link and a few other odds and ends....trying to keep up....and where
the heck is the snow! |

Ahh the wish of every
website creator to have the ultimate scoop....yep....though I've been out of
the Battlefield site for well over a year EA decided to drop me a line and
let me in on their secret. They have forums. No really :) . Wow. I came
across a really good one if you want to start to get your feet wet in the
area of Battlefield 3. It's EA's UK's ( trying to think of...never mind )
Battlefield 3 forum site. It's brings back the old prone position , more
jets per side, to Pacific or not, mods ( ahhhh mods ) arguments plus. They
should really have fingerprint age verification to login to these sites - it
would be interesting don't you think? Yeh, I wouldn't want to admit that I'm
that old either. You have to think though....the Battlefield series has been
pretty well followed and since the series began September 2002....that makes
it pretty much 8 years ago. A lot of water under the bridge - so to speak

Still here - wow and what a
break. But really looking at getting back. As it was last time I updated my
system primarily because of Battlefield 2....and now with BF3 on the horizon
...ahhh the system upgrade. I figure after pretty much 5 years , well, that
equals entitlement. Still running on an Athlon 3000+...yes you heard right.
Though I must say it's running pretty darn fast.....and a win98 upgrade to
boot. :) Yep, never formatted....just heavily tweaked. Big release this
weekend for some folks....well Monday to be exact. And I must say I will
partake....more tomorrow. |

It looks as though EA/DICE
have shown their hand...to what you may ask. It's the beginning of BF3. I
was in shock when I saw BF1943... didn't see that coming...but it makes
sense. While BF1943 may stand-alone by itself , it's not what people are
looking for the *next one* . BF1943 is paving the way for BF3.....like
Windows ME for XP... working out the bugs *before* the release using BF1943
so when they release BF3 it's ready to go. Will EA release BF3? You bet...in
this genre why would they turn there back on the cash cow that a solid
product would...it's just a matter of time. Have no expectations this not
BF3 - but it's the beginning....but we'll have to wait awhile...

It looks as though I may
finally have some time to play some BF2.....no actually - Bad Company.
Expecting the game any day now so I'll report, though late for the release I
realize, my experience. The demo was excellent and playable which is saying
a lot when I'm used to playing with a keyboard and mouse. More later....yep,
still here :) Now .... to get back into the FPS scene...
Updated the status page ...
also noticed that the email address is no longer working so I'm going to
check that out as well. |

I went to check the
forecast
link and no forecasts...me thinks there was too many on one page and we're
being blocked. lol .I'll check back in a bit but I may have to look for
another source :).
More Bad Company videos
added and we'll continue to add classics as long as they come out...or until
you get a good idea of the what the game is about...umm...then we would be
done already. So keep checking back to view more action and hopefully some
good dev videos soon.

Letting you know that we've
preformed an archive ...which you can get to by clicking on the , ummm,
archive link. Our
Urban Terror server has added the map Rihayd and it's quite perplexing.
Since the map add the hits have dropped...although the rotation still favors
Blizzard. Basically it's 2 Blizzard rounds , then Rihayd, then 2 more
Blizzard rounds. We may have to change something up there...
One of the items that
I've been working on is updating the Forecast link at the top right and
we've done that! We've targeted various locations in North America that not
only give you a present reading but also a 3 day forecast along with
temperature highs and lows. We're working on getting other cities World Wide
so that those who visit on a consistent basis can also check the real world
and what is happening around them. Now .... that was the one announcement
that we had stated the was currently being tested it's not the main one.
That one's coming soon .... :-) ... join the fray so to speak. |

Just a reminder that we are
updating this site on a consistent basis and maybe I should make note of it
here...hmmm. Maybe a good idea. The fun here has been a little girl in
teething mode. YAh! . Not really. So it appears that it's almost over and
hopefully sleep will follow. Last night I hit the hay at 8:30pm and slept
solid so it looks as though I've got a bit of a wind blowing in me tonight
:) - the good wind, not the other....never mind. Several update
announcements will be coming soon to this site , and if all goes to plan the
announcement of a sister site. That one's been on the plans for awhile but
part of having a site about gaming is actually having time to play the darn
things and keep all the family stuff in the right order. In the meantime
I've been making up a list of things to add to this site and I've come up
with two items...one is being tested now and the other should be up and
fully functional by the end of this month .... hopefully before then. Keep
checking back :) .
Our Urt server is up and
running and currently running the we think classic map Blizzard but we will
be adding another into the fray this weekend. Stay tuned so you know when
that's available...look for the server name [wLv] in the list :). |

Want to remind those that

want! It's just in the beginning stages so if you want to be part of
the start here's your chance. As always joining is optional but if you want

We've just setup a
Strikeforce 1.82 server . StrikeForce is a Counter Terrorist UT mod where
you play either the Terrorist or Counter Terrorist role. You can find the
files on
Fileplanet here....make sure you get the updates as well, listed below
on the same URL.
We've also got an Urban
Terror server. In it's current iteration we are running a 24/7 Blizzard map
config. I played the map a few days ago CTF and immediately found it was a
hit. The server supports autodownload of the map. To get the client go to
Urbanterror.net ( or just click on the link : ) ) . Download
the client and install...look for CTF games or specifically sort by all,
then by map and look for blizzard. |
