| Call to Arms has
posted some new early screenies of a map that is currently called the
Italian Hills. There's a nice website, the author's I beleive, hosting the
pics....you can take a gander if you want by following the link
here... If you're still looking or wondering where you can get the patch for Silent Heroes - 0.32->0.33 patch...well you can find the link here. We'll post these occasionally just to keep it fresh....and who knows...maybe it'll give you the courage to try a new mod.... The current working title is Stalingrad and is going to be primarily an infantry map with maybe a tank on either side....with no further *cough* adieu here are the screenshots...( slow night...) I was surfing through some forums.... this one happened to be through the XWWII site, and I found this pose of one of the players. Ridiculous as this may seem to you if you want to send in an awesome pose in BF1942, whether it's you or your troop in BF1942 or any other mod, feel free to do so. We will post the awesome ones...oh, yah ... make it tasteful as well... use the contact link in the menu - jpg's only please. Thanks Apev8 ... This was just put on the Communist Aggression website....maybe it's for you... Hello everyone! I am proud to announce that I have setup a teamspeak server and registered a channel for the Communist Aggression mod. The IRC channel is #camod on gamesurge.net (if you have mirc installed on your computer, paste this link into a browser window and press enter: irc://irc.gamesurge.net/camod ). Our Teamspeak IP is: camod.bounceme.net Hope to see you soon! Enjoy! -steve . You can check out their website here... While maybe not officially released renders one recently posted by Marcinko shows a Glock 17 with entirely made textures...no parts of photo's used....great job! This one caught me by surprise
but 21CW Total War is going to be releasing it's mod very very soon... by
the sounds of it, tomorrow! Here's the reason for this mod being around...Our
intent is to extend on the Desert Combat MOD into other areas of some of the
war that did not happen, North Korea VS UN forces and NATO VS the Warsaw
Pack. The 21cw Total War mod main focus is on Vehicle and map balances for
our tournament. FinnWars has made many an addition to their weapons and vehicles sections....give them a visit if you're interested. Occasionally I'll throw in the odd map that looks interesting...this one is for me because I don't really do the chopper thing and maybe all I need is a little practice....well here's my chance.... This map is designed to sharpen the skills of any helicopter pilot. Every rotary airframe is included as well as an AC-130 just for fun! Challenging terrain and tight landing zones make this map a blast! You can download it here... |

| XWWII Wants You!!!...BG42, will they be quitting after 1.0?....Desert Combat map pack - bot support...DCX 7... | |||
| XWWII mod has a
server over at the 'Forgotten Ones...what do they want? Well they actually
want *you* to help pick the map list and the actual order. If you're into
XWWII and would like the chance to use your voice head on over
here and make it heard! BattleGroup 42 has reported via Panzaman that 0.98 will be out soon and will include the new vehicles that were released with the 1.6 patch. He's also reported that they will *not* be stopping at 1.0 as some other mods have mentioned. Good news for Battlegroup42 fans! You like playing DC but would sometimes just like to play locally on maps with DC Bot support? Well a new mappack has been released that includes Medina Ridge Day2, DC Oil Fields, Weapons Bunker, No Fly Zone, and Battle of 73 Easting. This pack apparently won't overwrite your originals. You can download it here! Desert Combat Extended is set to be released Wednesday at 7ET. They are currently looking for mirrors, if you can help them out check their homepage for the email address here.... |

| StrikeForce for UT releases ver. 1.82!!...Call to Arms Italian Hills map done...The Lost Battalion startup screens...Desert Combat Extended in ??? phase... | |||
| Ahhh
StrikeForce...the mod that got it all going for us here. You can still see
the influence on the opening page which inadvertently works very well with
Battlefield 1942 or Battlefield Vietnam. Here's the list of changes....
General changes 1.81 -> 1.82a: GuineaPig reports that the Italian map that he's been working on has been completed. Here's a description of the map....This map takes place in the deep interior of Italy, and the scenery is reminescent of the countryside near the Gothic Line in northern italy. there are 6 control points, the Allied base, which has 9 tanks, 2 artillery pieces, 2 apcs, 2 fighters and a heavy bomber ready to roll as well as a train station, Hill 117, a small hill with bunkers overlooking the valleys and a machine gun ready to hit anything that comes its way, as well as an observation post for sniping people at the alied main base. The Village control point houses a small italian village nestled into the hills, with a nearby farm with two stukas, 4 houses, nice stone walls and a church. the Isolated Village can only be reached via tank by the railway line that stretches from the allied main base to that control point. this is where the heavy german armour is kept, so the germans need to run down the railway line directily towards the allied base before they can get out. the village itself is totally destroyed. Hill 197 is another medium sized hill, with a plateau leading up to the top. It has a defgun which can reach every inch on the map, as well as an artillery piece. Hill 543 is monstrous, so huge that u can see all the map if you're on top of it. It has a defgun and two bunkers, a light tank and a long climb for its defense. It should be a great mod when it's released.... The Lost Battalion has some startup screens over on their site.... you just have to dig. Actually they may have been 'out there' already but I hadn't seen them yet... so here are some of them anyway. Just a note about DCX ... they report that they are in the last stages of testing...currently the regular BF Maps. Should be worth the wait. |

| Flashpoint Balkans releases new renders....Who Dares Wins mod releases renders...DCX - age and occupation... | |||
| Flashpoint
released some new renders today...they are the RPG-7 and the M-76. Nothing
else to report from FB...here are the pics...
Who Dares Wins is a not so new mod but one that should be a favorite once the mod is released. Here's the premise...This mod is about post-Vietnam special operations. Special Operations Forces to be included in release 0.1 are the US Delta Force and Task Force 160 helicopter unit (the Night Stalkers), the Green Berets, the British Special Air Service (SAS) and the Australian Special Air Service Regiment (SASR). Opposition forces will include Taliban, Iraqi (Desert Storm & Iraqi Freedom) and Somali troops. In 0.2, we will add units such as the Rangers and Navy SEALS, and many more maps in places like Bosnia, Grenada, Panama and the Falkland Islands. Should be good when it's released! Do you ever wonder who the guy 'really' is ( I know, sometimes you don't want to know ) who you're playing? Well I ran across this very interesting thread that has the nics with first names, age and occupation over at DCX. Just slightly interested? Check it out here... |

| EA Release Community Announcement... | |||
| EA in my humble
opinion is doing just about everything it can for the Battlefield Community
with map updates, patches....the continued support is awesome! Don't believe
me.... try buying other games and look for updates. Oh, you'll get patches (
which has to be unfortunately )...but support like this is in my opinion
quite respectable. So where is this coming from? Here's a few excerpts from
their announcement...the full account of which you can read
here.... The excerpts....Map contest...The quantity and quality meant we had to take extra care that we selected maps which combined gameplay and visual quality. We'll be contacting the winners first, and then we'll make our public announcement. The turnout for the map contest was exceptional and everyone should be proud of their efforts. Questions for the developer?....but now here's your chance to ask DICE directly about Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield Vietnam. Here's a chance to get your mod questions answered! Please send any question you have about either Battlefield game to Mod Questions. We'll post responses to your questions in future community updates. Mod tools out of the box?...Q: Will DICE and EA be releasing mod tools for Battlefield Vietnam? A: Yes, BFV will ship in the box with Battlecraft Vietnam, an updated map editor, and an updated Mod Development Toolkit. There's more over at their site...make sure you check it while we have the game developers on our side! |

| Call to Arms accepts new member/New map for CTA...New XWII server...Lost Battalion is back with a new map...BattleGroup42 download information...No Posts.... | |||
| FSSF Smitty
reports that Capt. Sandgren has joined the troop...specialty as of yet
unknown but is reported to be working on learning the skinning and mapping
trades! Great to see a great mod get more help. Also, Torch has reported
starting a new map - This is a new map which I have
started that will focus on an underused aspect of the game: bombers. This
map is based on Operation Chastise: the allied dam-busting mission. Several
lancaster bombers will take off from an airfield in England and fly over the
English Channel in an attempt to destroy three dams in Europe. However,
unlike Battle of Britain, there will be no fighter escort for the bombers.
Lancaster bombers will have four positions, a pilot/bomber and three gunners
- the latter of whom will have to hold off the fighters themselves if they
wish to succeed, much like in a real bombing mission. German airfields will
have fast-respawning fighters and fast-transit ground vehicles (for downed
pilots), but few AA guns. AA will be situated heavily around the allied
airstrip to prevent axis spawn-bombing. Bomber crews will need to work
together in order to succeed. Pilots can't fly like fighters; their gunner
crews won't be able to hit the targets if they do. Flying in formation will
allow bombers to cover each other's blind spots. Bouncing dam-buster bombs
may be employed if the BF engine can support them. Sounds like an
interesting map....something that would make teamwork invaluable. XWWII has news on a new server that's going to support hopefully 46 players or so... here's the lowdown... We just set up a new server running XWW2 as it's primary game (because the whole clan loves it). If you wouldn't mind mentioning it on the front page of your website, we'd like to help XWW2 expand and get new players into the battle. It's at 32 players with no lag now, we'd like to see if we can boost to 46 or so, but need to evaluate. We run the same rules as Drysoks (great server) for realism, no outside cams/nose cams, 100% FF, etc. Regular BF or DC just seem so kid-arcade like after getting used to those rules! Name: Forgotten Ones XWWII 100 Mbps Server IP: 65.75.145.180 default port. We also run a TS2 at the same IP with default TS2 port. All are welcome there, no password required, holds 50+ people at maximum codecs. Lost Battalion has finished it's 'adjustments'. Augustus just finished the Milne Bay map - Milne Bay was the very first time the Japanese had ever been effectively beaten in battle during WW2, they were trying to make a move on Port Moresby (the Papua New Guinean capital) originally from the North, but Australian troops had been holding them back on the Kokoda Trail in feirce jungle fighting for months, so the Japanese decided to take Port Moresby from the East, by landing at Milne Bay and moving inland from there. Here are some photos with the rest at their website here! Want to download the latest Battlegroup 42 but think 'it's to much of a pain'.....'what files do I need'...well there's been a guide that's been released, you can find it here along with all the download locations! Now there's no excuse! Forgotten Hope has released a ton...well a few anyway....um...new images. Here you'll find one of them and for the rest of those beauties be sure to visit their homepage here... Simply the reason for no posts recently was I got quite sick and had to take a break from everything to get well.... things are now a lot better and hopefully will stay that way....hope you enjoy the site... |

| Call to Arms new map concept for BF1942...Silent Heroes movie for 0.35...map release for BG095...Punkbuster??? Is it worth it...BG0.98 release...FinnWars update soon... | |||
| FSSF Smitty
reports that they are working on a new map concept for Call to Arms....Work
has begun on a new all naval map. The working title is Submarine Hunting.
Part of the Battle of the Atlantic, the fight takes place in the North
Atlantic, Canadian ships will have to seek and engage the enemy fleet.
Germans will do the same. Germans have u-boats, lots of u-boats, plus a
destroyer or two and a Battleship. Canadians will have access to a carrier,
destroyers and Battleships. Both sides will have torpedo boats. The carrier
will launch 1 or 2 torpedo planes and an unarmed recon plane. LCVPs will be
replaced on all ships with liferafts and /or torpedo boats. Hopefully i can
modify the subs to launch rafts when sunk. U-Boats will have deck guns, and
extra player positions. There is no terrain in this map. Ticket loss will
come from sinking ships and killing soldiers only. The map is huge, the
largest possible in BF, and there is a lt of water to search. Engineers will
be very important in this map to keep your ships afloat, but don't forget,
other classes will be required for boarding parties. I hope to add a PBY for
recon and rescue, but this will be a bit later. Silent Heroes has released a new movie showcasing the upcoming 0.35 release...here's the download link...and the explanation...Over at the movie-section you can now find a 7minute and 21 seconds long preview of an unit that is comming in 0.35 - photage taken during an internal dev-test session. There's been a map release for BG095 by sPz M Wittmann .... here's the news...Hi folks! I hope, it works. I configured some free webspace to upload one of my maps. It's not designed to win a beauty award or a gameplay contest, it's only a "special" map. So get it and find out what it is made for. Have fun! The map link is here... Punkbuster while enabled on several servers has also been taken off others, kicking off players that are not cheating and labeling them so they can't play on those servers anymore...specifically gamehack#80031 of which there is no apparent explanation. If you'd like to report your experiences with Punkbuster please do by contacting us via email and let other gamers know what you've experienced with Punkbuster. BattleGroup 42 will be releasing 0.98 in about a week and a half giving full support to the new map Caen and all vehicles ( reported by Panzaman ). That puts it about Feb18th...just letting you know. Finnwars just released it's mod the other day, 0.5 to be exact, and will update it it 'very soon' according to their website here.... |
